40th WorldSkills Competition - Calgary 2009

From September 1-6, 2009, Calgary, Canada will host over 900 competitors from 49 countries at the 2009 WorldSkills Competition. WorldSkills is the pinnacle of excellence in skilled trades and technologies training.

41st WorldSkills Competition - London 2011
|

The winner is the United Kingdom.
Delegates of the WorldSkills General Assembly voted (10.05.06) for the UK to host the 2011 WorldSkills Competition.
The vote followed an exciting bid process that included dynamic and creative presentations from each of the bidding Members.

Try-a-Trade
|
|
A Try-a-Trade event provides young people with the chance to find out about various occupations by learning some of the skills used in particular jobs.
The event is staged over one or more days in a central location. A number of separate areas are set up, each one designated to a particular occupation. The students, in groups of 2 or 3 spend about 20 minutes in each occupation/trade area.
