What are skills competitions?

These competitions are designed to challenge and evaluate the level of vocational training and education nationally. The results from competitions not only provides valuable feedback to individuals, employers and providers, it also is recognition for outstanding achievement and a motivation to aspire to higher standards.
The national competition is a revealing experience for spectators to see highly competent young learners or recently qualified learners in action.

The national final competition will consist of participants that have won at regional competition level who will compete to be the BEST in South Africa. Following this national competition the team that meets the criteria will be chosen to represent SA at the international WorldSkills Competition.
